QuikClot Control+™ Hemostatic Device is the first FDA-cleared hemostatic dressing indicated for Class III and Class IV severe bleeding in the internal organ space.
QuikClot™ Hemostatic Products are a proprietary technology which consists of a non-woven material impregnated with kaolin. Kaolin activates Factor XII on the intrinsic pathway, which in turn accelerates the clotting cascade leading to faster bleeding control compared to standard gauze.1 Faster hemostasis may improve visualization of the surgical field2 which may allow for quicker identification of definitive repair needs.
Key features include:
• X-Ray detectable strips
• QuikClot Control+™ Device is used on active bleeding sites
• Product uses the same placement techniques as a standard laparotomy pad and gauze3
INDICATIONS: QuikClot Control+™ Hemostatic Device is indicated for temporary control of internal organ space bleeding for patients displaying class III or IV bleeding. It may also be used for control of severely bleeding wounds such as surgical wounds and traumatic injuries.
Cardiac surgical procedures: for temporary control of mild and moderate bleeding in cardiac surgical procedures, as well as in patients displaying class III or class IV bleeding.
Bone surfacing following sternotomy: to control bleeding from bone surfaces following a sternotomy.
