The row of 1 x 2 DeBakey-type serrations on the tips are designed to be large and strong enough to handle relatively large masses of tissue. Because of the groove construction and light spring tension, they may be used to hold and handle suture material as well. These forceps are of heavier design than the DeBakey Vascular Tissue Forceps (351800 through 351814). The distal portion is tapered to a 3.0 mm DeBakey-type tip.
